Where the River Bends, Community Grows

The seat of Washington County since 1853. A city of parks, trails, arts, and neighbors who know your name.

A River Town with Deep Roots

West Bend sits along the Milwaukee River in the heart of Washington County. Named for the westward bend in the river where the city was founded, this community of approximately 32,000 residents has grown from a frontier settlement into a vibrant mid-sized city while holding onto the character that makes it distinct.

As the county seat, West Bend serves as the administrative and cultural center of Washington County. The city is home to the Museum of Wisconsin Art, more than 1,100 acres of parkland, and a historic downtown that has seen continuous reinvestment from local businesses and residents alike.
